Diksha means initiation: a formal religious admission or transformation within a particular Shaiva lineage or ritual system, often involving an authorised teacher, specified commitments and traditions of mantra or worship. Its meaning and consequences differ among schools; in classical Shaiva tantric and Siddhanta traditions initiation may hold a central role in the relationship between bondage, grace and liberation.
Diksha should not be confused with merely reading a mantra on a website, watching a video or privately deciding to call oneself initiated. Nor can a digital assistant grant lineage authority. A public explanation may discuss its purpose, historical development and general religious significance. Actual initiation procedures, lineage-specific mantras, prerequisites and restricted practices must be referred to competent authorised teachers and subjected to ShivGoraksh's separate practice-classification and publication checks.
