A place for study and reflection
ShivGoraksh is an independent educational and devotional reading project. Its focus is Shiva, Shakti, Shaivism and the Nath traditions, understood in conversation with the wider Hindu scriptural and devotional world. We bring original texts, translations, explanations and introductory guides together so that readers can approach them at their own pace.
Open reading, in two languages
The library can be read freely in English and Hindi without a visitor account. Explore Scriptures, Learn, Devotion, Puja & Practice, Festivals and the Calendar. English and Hindi pages are connected by the language switcher. The two presentations aim to convey the same subject clearly; a translation remains an interpretation of its source.
Respect for living traditions
Shaiva, Shakta and Nath traditions contain diverse teachings, practices and historical interpretations. A guide to one tradition does not speak for every community. We distinguish cultural explanation, devotional reading and practitioner instruction. The project does not claim academic accreditation, formal lineage authority or the power to confer initiation.
Responsible use of sources
Historical editions, modern compositions, translations and explanatory writing have different origins and reuse conditions. We keep these distinctions visible in source disclosures and preserve correction history. Founder-reviewed educational publication is not independent scholarly certification. Where evidence is incomplete, we identify the uncertainty rather than supply an invented authority.
Read with curiosity and care
The library supports learning, reflection and respectful devotion. It does not replace medical care, legal advice, a qualified teacher or the guidance appropriate to a particular lineage. For the way we work, read Sources & Editorial Methodology and Editorial Policy. Questions, corrections and permissions inquiries are welcome at akhileshsaini.com@gmail.com.
