Accessibility Statement

Reading access, available navigation aids, known limitations and how to report an accessibility barrier.

Updated: 26 October 2026

Our approach

ShivGoraksh aims to make English and Hindi spiritual reading accessible across devices and abilities. We use semantic headings, text alternatives, visible keyboard focus, a skip link, responsive layouts and reduced-motion support. WCAG 2.2 AA is a design target, not a claim that an independent conformance audit has been completed.

Available reading aids

Scripture readers offer text size, font, line spacing and optional reading layers. Roman display controls distinguish Easy Roman from scholarly IAST. Longer articles have desktop contents navigation and a mobile contents disclosure. Sources and licences remain keyboard-accessible. Browser zoom and built-in assistive technology can be used without creating an account.

Keyboard and mobile use

Use Tab to move through links and controls, Enter or Space where appropriate to activate them, and the Calendar's arrow keys to move date focus. The selected-day panel provides detail beyond the monthly cells. Mobile footers organize links into compact groups. Reading content is not dependent on scroll animation, and reduced-motion preferences are respected.

Known limitations

Seven-column Calendar cells with full festival names can require narrow wrapping and taller rows on very small screens. Long source tables, Sanskrit compounds and scholarly diacritics can be demanding for small displays or speech synthesis. Easy Roman is a reading aid, not independently verified pronunciation instruction. Some linked historical scans may be images without accessible text; their external accessibility is outside our control.

Tell us about a barrier

Email akhileshsaini.com@gmail.com with the page, language, device, browser or assistive technology and what you were trying to do. You do not need to disclose a diagnosis. We can investigate the barrier and discuss an accessible way to obtain the relevant information, but do not promise a fixed resolution time. See Help and Privacy.
