Who are the Navnaths in different Nath traditions?

हिन्दी

Navnaths means the Nine Naths, a revered group of exemplary yogic teachers remembered in several regional Nath and related traditions. There is no single universally accepted list. One list circulating in some Maharashtra-linked lineages includes Matsyendranath, Gorakhnath, Jalandharnath, Kanifnath, Gahininath, Bhartrharinath, Revananath, Charpatinath and Nagnath (with differing spellings). Other lists include or omit particular figures, or arrange their names differently.

The number nine expresses an important lineage memory, not an agreed historical register established from one source. A public FAQ should identify which regional text or living lineage supplies a particular list rather than merging multiple lists and presenting the result as definitive.
